76 luxury vehicles worth $ 5.5 million destroyed by bulldozer – Philippines
What a mess, some say. 76 illegally imported luxury vehicles and motorcycles were destroyed in the Philippines under President Rodrigo Duterte’s eyes.
These sedans, coupes and cabriolets of prestigious brands (Lamborghini, Porsche or Mercedes-Benz). Were reduced in sheet pile by bulldozers and backhoe loaders, reports CNN.
The corruption pointed out
The value of the crushed vehicles is close to $ 5.5 million. In all, 800 cars and two-wheelers were seized after their arrival in the province of Cagayan without any tax being paid.

The president pointed the responsibility of the corrupt members of the customs services. The public destruction of part of the goods was meant to be a proof of his intransigence.
Authorities have preferred this method to the auction, to avoid that the traffic managers buy the vehicles. “We need to show the world that we are a viable country for investment and business,” said Rodrigo Duterte.
